QUEEN CITY KITCHEN
PRACTICE: Brand Identity
STUDIO: LPK
Queen City Kitchen, formally known as Over-the-Rhine & Walnut Hills Kitchen and Pantry, is Cincinnati’s oldest soup kitchen with the mission to provide food with dignity for the neighbors in need while also acting as a resource. The brand was in need of a complete refresh and rebrand.
*This design was not chosen as the rebrand.

THE LOGO
Keeping the integrity of the brand in mind, this brandmark is an abstract monogram that evolved from a plated meal icon. The monogram is created to eventually be able to stand alone, once the new brand name gains recognition within the community.

PATTERNS
The designs created are energetic, vibrant, iconic, and all about that connectivity. Along with the brandmark, are two additional patterns to be used throughout. One is some of the buildings found in Cincinnati and the other is a picnic like pattern.

THE WEBSITE
With the rebrand, an area that needed work was the website. It was outdated and not very inviting or user-friendly. To change that, some of the goals were to make it fresh and elevated, all of which are key attributes to the brand.
